Use Claude to evaluate candidates

 

Purpose

This SOP outlines the process for evaluating job candidates against job descriptions using the Claude HR Logo project to identify the best-fit candidates for interview prioritization.

Prerequisites

  • Access to Claude with HR Logo project
  • Job descriptions uploaded to project knowledge
  • Candidate resumes/CVs in downloadable format
  • Candidate salary expectations (to be added manually)

Procedure

Step 1: Access the HR Logo Project

  1. Open Claude
  2. Navigate to the project called "HR Logo"
  3. Verify that project knowledge contains relevant job descriptions

Step 2: Prepare Documents

  1. Download all candidate CVs/resumes for the specific role
  2. Locate the relevant job description (e.g., Project Manager)
  3. Note: If job descriptions are not in project knowledge, upload them separately

Step 3: Upload Materials to Claude

  1. Upload the specific job description for the role you're evaluating
  2. Upload all candidate resumes for that role
  3. Add salary expectations for each candidate manually (e.g., "Victoria: $2,600/month")

Step 4: Request Analysis

Ask Claude to analyze candidates based on the following criteria:

  • Technical Skills - Match with required technical competencies
  • Experience - Relevant work history and years of experience
  • Tools - Familiarity with required software/platforms
  • Culture Fit - Alignment with company values and work style
  • English Proficiency - Look for 90%+ score on English proficiency tests

Special Requirements by Role:

Project Manager Position:

  • Prior experience managing Bubble projects
  • Experience with low-code/no-code projects
  • Strong English communication skills (90%+ proficiency)

Step 5: Request Output Format

Request Claude to create a comprehensive table that:

  1. Lists all candidates
  2. Scores/ranks them on each evaluation criterion
  3. Sorts candidates by:
    • Best fit by experience
    • Best fit by skills
    • Best fit by tools proficiency
    • Best fit by culture
    • Salary expectations (low to high)
  4. Provides an overall recommendation ranking

Step 6: Review and Prioritize

  1. Review the generated table
  2. Identify top candidates for initial interviews
  3. Consider both qualification rankings and salary expectations
  4. Create interview priority list based on:
    • Overall fit score
    • Specific role requirements
    • Budget constraints

Best Practices

  • Ensure all resumes are in a readable format before uploading
  • Include as much context about company culture in project knowledge
  • Update project knowledge regularly to remove outdated information
  • Pre-filter candidates before this evaluation when possible
  • Document any role-specific requirements clearly in your request

Please create a comprehensive table ranking candidates by each criterion and provide an overall recommendation for interview priority.

Notes

  • This process is most effective when dealing with multiple applicants
  • Pre-filtered candidate lists will yield better results
  • Keep project knowledge updated and relevant to current hiring needs
