Head of Design
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
- Support the onboarding, training, and allocation of new resources.
- Lead and manage a team of UX/UI designers, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development.
- Allocate design resources across multiple projects, balancing workloads based on project complexity and team availability.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and design excellence within the team.
Project Management
- Collaborate with the Head of Operations and Project Managers to define the scope, timelines, and design needs for each project.
- Ensure that all design work meets client expectations and is delivered on time.
- Manage the design workflow, from wireframing to prototyping, ensuring consistency and quality across all platforms.
- Participate in project kick-off meetings, providing valuable UX/UI insights to clients during the analysis and planning phases.
Design Execution

Oversee the design of wireframes, low-fidelity, and high-fidelity prototypes, tailored to the requirements of each platform (such as Glide, Bubble, Flutterflow, Webflow, etc.).

Ensure that all design elements adhere to the usability, aesthetic standards, and style consistency required across low-code/no-code platforms, establishing a cohesive visual language across all designs.

Implement and enforce design consistency across teams, maintaining uniform style, components, and standards across all platforms to ensure a seamless brand experience.

Participate in hands-on design work when necessary, particularly for high-priority or complex projects.

Review and approve all design deliverables, ensuring alignment with the company’s design principles, client objectives, and cross-platform consistency.
Collaboration and Client Engagement
- Serve as a key point of contact for clients regarding design-related questions and concerns.
- Work closely with developers and PMs to ensure that designs are accurately translated into functional applications.
- Provide UX/UI leadership in client meetings, offering insights that enhance the functionality and user experience of delivered applications.
Team Development and Performance
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Develop and implement design standards and guidelines to maintain consistency across all projects.
- Promote ongoing learning and development for the design team, encouraging team members to stay updated on UX/UI trends and best practices.
Requirements
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in UX/UI design, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong portfolio showcasing UX/UI design projects, particularly for web and mobile applications.
Skills

Expertise in wireframing and prototyping tools, especially Figma.

Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, usability best practices, and information architecture.

Proficiency in creating and analyzing user flows and user stories to enhance the user experience and align with design goals.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present design concepts to clients and stakeholders.
Tools
- Proficiency in design tools like Adobe, Figma, Whimsical, and other wireframing/prototyping tools.
- Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools like Slack, Plutio, and Google Workspace.
KPIs and Metrics
Design Quality and Client Satisfaction
- Client feedback and satisfaction scores (measured through surveys and direct feedback).
- Number of revisions per project (aiming for minimal revisions after the first client presentation).
Project Delivery Metrics
- On-time delivery rate for design milestones (percentage of design projects delivered within the agreed timeline).
- Adherence to project scope and budget from a design perspective.
Team Performance
- Team engagement and performance metrics (measured through task completion rates and internal feedback).
- Retention and growth within the design team.
Process Improvement
- Implementation of new design processes or tools that improve efficiency or quality.
- Reduction in time from concept to delivery.
