What we do at LowCode?

LowCode Agency aka LCA is an agency that leverages no/low code tools to build custom-app solutions for entrepreneurs and SMEs.

We mainly build with Glide , Bubble (PWA) desktop-first apps, native apps with FlutterFlow, and websites with Webflow.

Plus: we are Glide, Caspio, Formstack and Integromat (Make) certified partners 🎉

What does a typical client engagement look like?

This is a simple, 4 phase process:

  1. Discovery: We begin by understanding our client's needs and what are they trying to do in one or more calls with our founder: @Jesus Vargas. Then we proceed to make a proposal for the client. Once they accept it and make the first payment, the assigned project manager proceeds to prepare the client portal in Plutio.
  2. Refinement : PM + Designer have one or multiple calls with the client to have as much context of the product as possible, filling in any information gaps from the scope to the expected product, before starting design.
  3. Design/Wireframing: We build a wireframe based on the scope and refinement information, and we ALWAYS require wireframe approval from the client, to be on the same page. We send the approved wireframes to development. These are the types of wireframes/designs we have:
    1. Low-Fidelity Wireframe (Lo-Fi): Every project has a Low-Fidelity Wireframe. During this process, the designer maps every screen for every user flow. The These are built in Whimsical. The Lo-Fi wireframes become the final source of truth for development.
    2. High-Fidelity Design Guide: Applies to all platforms BUT Glide. Once Low-Fidelity Wireframe is approved, the design team does a couple of screens to represent the look and feel of the app (no flows, only screens). Includes a UI Kit.  
  4. Development:  We use the best no and low code tools for the specific product/project. Here the developer works on the app based on the milestones defined by the PM.
  5. QA: To ensure the quality of products developers MUST include a Test Case (video walkthrough of the milestone's flows), and then the PM also does a quick QA round to ensure the app is ready for our clients. In some cases depending on the size on the app, a specialized QA person will do a deep QA instead of the PM
  6. Client Testing:  We share the app with our clients and gather their feedback for the final touches. And solve any bugs or issues for delivery.
  7. Launch/Maintenance: When v1 of the app is ready we do ongoing maintenance of the product/project

What are LowCode’s don't’s?

We usually don't take projects that

  1. -We can’t understand
  2. -We won’t provide value
  3. -Won’t provide ROI to our clients (doing a logo, cleaning up a db)
  4. -We don’t know how to do them (full stack code projects, for example)

We are a multicultural team of 36 people living in different countries around the world, such as Mexico, Argentina, United States, Vietnam, Venezuela, Brazil, and Poland, among others.

Culture 👨‍💻👩‍💻

We work in a completely remote scheme with the help of several applications that allow us to achieve this. LowCode's work style is results-oriented, but in a very cool and relaxed atmosphere.

  • We prefer written communication through Slack channels or Plutio (these last two help us to tag each other in tasks, comments, etc. in a faster and more efficient way).
  • Feedback oriented, we are always open to hear what you think and what you have to say so we can be BETTER, and it goes both ways, we will often give you feedback to help you IMPROVE. 
  • Your immediate boss will not be behind you all the time, no one else, but you are responsible for completing your activities on time.
  • We require cameras ON for all meetings to ensure we're all engaged and present for each other during meetings.

How will you get paid 🤑

You’re going to define this part with @Jesus Vargas, but basically, this is the way we handle payments:

  1. US account
  2. Any of these intermediate platforms

Payments are made through our bank (Mercury) to your US account or the platform of your choice from the above-mentioned ONCE per month with the previous invoice submitted into LowCode’s Dashboard.

⚠️ No invoice, no payment, so make sure you submit it ON TIME! Refer to How to submit your invoices.
No tracked time, no payment. Refer to How to track your hours.

*ALL payments will be made in US Dollars

NOTE: If you’re based in Mexico for the first two months working at LowCode you’ll receive payments through a US Dollar Wise account, after that, you will be registered in an external payroll system with the objective of fulfilling all tax obligations for both parties (@Angélica Ledezma will reach out to you to explain more when the time comes).
